This sunset mountain top proposal at Craggy Pinnacle was beyond beautiful! John and Lexie reside in Texas, but John brought Lexie back to where he grew up to meet his family and propose. He wasn’t sure the ring would arrive before their flight there, so he purchased a costume ring just in case! Thankfully, it did arrive so that he could bring it with him and propose with the real thing! The couple was there barely long enough to capture the proposal and some quick engagement photos before it was dark. Luckily though, they had the beautiful moon in the sky to round out their last set of photos!
How did you meet?
We met at a San Antonio Rampage hockey game.
What is your proposal story?
It was a complete secret. She had no idea what we were doing other than going to see the sunset. On the way up to the top of the mountain, we saw four black bears. One mother and three little babies. As we raced up the twisting mountain roads racing daylight, she still had no clue but exclaimed “best day ever!” still reeling with excitement after seeing her first little bear family. Once we parked, I dragged her up the steep trail as she glared at me with every step. Once we got to the top of the trail, I saw the photographer and made eye contact, nodded, and it was game on. There was a wedding ceremony that had just finished and as we made our way through that crowd, Jessica started snapping pictures. Lexie was still oblivious at this point. A moment later, I was on one knee and a moment after that, she was in tears and our unplanned audience erupted with applause. It was a perfect end to a perfect day.
Tell us about the ring/band.
It’s a Great Gatsby-themed diamond ring with a large center diamond and a cluster of small and long diamonds going around like a sunburst.
Tell us about your engagement shoot outfits and accessories.
We were wearing clothes that are casual but classic, perfect for the scenery.
