Cody & Sami met in middle school. For Cody, he claims it was love at first sight. He promised on that day that Sami would be his wife some day. Flash forward to high school, Sami finally admitted her feelings to Cody. They’ve been inseparable ever since! Cody proposed to Sami on a snowy mountain in Lake Tahoe on Thanksgiving day. This April, on their ten year anniversary, they’ll tie the knot and become the Mr & Mrs he swore they’d be the first time they met.
How did you meet?
We met in seventh grade, middle school. He had a crush on me “since the first day of school” but we remained friends until I caught on junior year and we have been together ever since!
What is your proposal story?
Our tradition with my family is going away for Thanksgiving, last year we went to South Lake Tahoe. He had planned it all out with my sister to make sure to get it all on video during our annual family photos. So when it was time to go for our couple photos, he waited until the last picture to get down on one knee and ask me to be his forever!
Tell us about the ring/band.
My ring is a white gold band with one larger diamond in the middle and smaller diamonds around half the band. They stop where the inside of my hand is.
Tell us about your engagement shoot outfits and accessories.
Our engagement shoot was done by the AMAZING Paige Brittany Photography. We love the rustic farmhouse look so she took us to a field with oak trees (my fiancé’s fav) and absolutely nailed it. My dress was a cotton blue with flowers on it, I wore nude wedges and my ring of course! I had a beautiful handmade bouquet (courtesy of Paige) that was mixed with wildflowers and beautiful pieces from the field! Cody wore his denim jeans with boots and a light blue dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up for more a casual look.
Have you started planning your wedding? What is your wedding date?
Yes! We are planning an elopement on April 22, 2021 in South Lake Tahoe, which just so happens to also be our 10 year anniversary together!!
