Golden Coast Engagement Session in Carmel

California seems to never run out of hot spots to head to for engagement photos. We can’t blame Ana and Jason for choosing Carmel as their e-sesh destination; it’s too dreamy for words. And that natural light Sarahi Hadden Photography captured is pristine. We love the flirty, summertime romance in this west coast gem.

How did you meet?

The bride and groom were set up as a blind date for their senior prom by the couples then best friends who are now their maid of honor and best man.

What is your proposal story?

The bride had just wrapped up a long day of hospital training for her new job as a nurse at a trauma hospital. On the commute home she called her fiancé who suggested they go out to eat on the local wharf for dinner with his mother and sister. At the time his mother was very sick with appendix cancer and had very little appetite but it seemed she wanted to eat that day so the bride was more than happy to oblige the dinner outing despite her exhaustion.

It was a beautifully sunny day, which made for a beautiful sunset dinner, and after dinner they all took a walk along the wharf taking in the oceans beauty and the sunset. The grooms sister offered to take a photo of the couple and unbeknownst to the bride she was actually taking a video. That’s when the groom got down on his knee and asked her to be his wife for the rest of their lives. Despite being in a relationship for 15 years (yes, FIFTEEN YEARS!) the bride to be was completely surprised. The proposal was perfect.

Tell us about the ring/band.

The bride and groom prefer to beat to their own drum per say, so the bride has hinted that she wanted something a little off the beaten path. She still wanted to have a sense of a classic cut, and he delivered. She received a 14KT white gold pear cut 0.55 carat diamond solitaire. Clean, brilliant, simple, different, and romantic. She couldn’t have asked for more.
