Vegas vegan baker Shayanne met the man of her dreams, Joe, via a mutual friend three years prior to dating. After realizing the sparks were too strong to deny, the pair made it official and moved their single status to taken. Just a year after officially dating, Joe popped the question in New York City during a getaway trip and the rest is their history! For their retro session, Carrie Pollard Photography joined along and snapped snazzy shots at some of the most unique murals throughout Vegas. Of which, we must say, their chemistry is undeniable.
How did you meet?
We met 3 years prior to dating through a mutual friend. We instantly became best friends and spoke/ hung out often throughout the years. The stars aligned when we both happened to be single and living in the same place, so we decided to stop denying how we felt about each other and have been inseparable ever since!
What is your proposal story?
For our one year of dating anniversary, Joe surprised me with a trip to New York City to celebrate! I flew first class for the first time and had the real fairy tale experience, it was incredible. We are both hopeless romantics and love classic movies. So, our first day on the town, we both got dressed up and he took me to the top of the Empire State Building. I was amazed by the view and he started talking about us, the next thing I knew he was on one knee and was holding out a ring. I was in complete shock having no idea and obviously said yes to my best friend and the love of my life! We proceeded to have the best trip of our lives in New York, as an engaged couple! Truly a magical experience, that we both will never forget.
Tell us about the ring/band.
My ring is 100% me and absolutely perfect! Joe is a huge fan of Disney and calls me his princess all the time. My family’s background is Indian, which this ring has an interlay of the Taj Mahal when you look at it from the front. His thoughtful reasoning behind this was since I am taking his name, I can still have a piece of my family with me forever. I’m not crying, you’re crying!
