These two Mississippi natives enjoyed the cool breezes during their December engagement session in Downtown Birmingham. Leigh and Nick dressed warm and comfy as they strolled through a park, then swapped those clothes for a tie and heels as they looked over the city on a nearby rooftop. Although their June 13th wedding date got postponed, these photos will be something that they will cherish forever!
How did you meet?
We met through both being college coaches! Nick coaches football and Leigh coaches softball.
What is your proposal story?
It was a huge surprise and just an amazing moment for us both. He told me, a few weeks ago, that he wanted to do a date night as our last weekend of freedom. We are both college coaches, so he told me he was taking me to Texas De Brazil. I got all dressed up and he took me to Good People Brewery before we went to dinner, then to railroad park before dinner to “walk around”. Little did I know that both of our family and my godparents were hiding out in the trees and bushes (literally)! When we got to the pond, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was so special and I had no clue that he was planning any of this.
Tell us about the ring/band.
My ring is a beautiful center diamond surrounded by six more diamonds in a circle shape. The band fit is so unique, the way it twists with tiny diamonds throughout.
Tell us about your engagement shoot outfits and accessories.
Leigh Ann sends out a great style guide! It has the best tips and tricks for how to flatter your features, what looks best on camera, and more. We tried to follow it with one dressy outfit, and then layers for our casual outfit to stay warm too!
Have you started planning your wedding? What is your wedding date?
Our wedding was scheduled for June 13th, 2020. Due to Covid-19, we have postponed our wedding until 2021 and are exploring all our best options as things move forward!
