These two cuties got engaged in such a unique way… on a train! Kyle thought outside the box for his big ask, and I loved every minute of this fun and beautiful proposal! Let’s just say Kimberly loved it, too! Kyle pulled off this amazing proposal on Great Smoky Mountain Railroad in Bryson City, NC without a hitch!
If you’re like us and romantic ideas keep popping into your head quicker than we can blink, then you’ll probably understand why this propose during a train ride through the Rockies is beyond amazing! The stunning mountain views outside of the window combined with your person’s sweet smile were enough to make us forget where we were – not that it mattered when all we could see or feel was love. What began as a relaxed day trip soon transformed into the most special moment of this couple’s lives. Little did they know what surprises were in store for the, during this beautiful journey…
From the Photographer: I have to say, when he first contacted me about his proposal photos, I was worried about keeping it a secret for over an hour in such a small space. But then I realized that if I could get a seat right behind them on the train, we could easily make this happen. So, that’s exactly what we did. Kyle called the railroad touring company and got me a seat right behind them on the train. (It wasn’t too hard since the office staff was over the moon excited to help him plan the first ever proposal on their train!) I pretended to be in my own world as a solo rider for over an hour, and then as soon as Kyle dropped down on one knee in the aisle, I popped up and captured the entire thing! It was a blast, and I even surprised the other guests sitting around us when I quickly moved all around the train car to document their proposal. After the train stopped at it’s first destination in Dillsboro, NC, and the other guests deboarded, we took advantage of the empty train car for some engagement style photos. It’s not every day (or any day until now) that I have a chance to photograph a couple on a train, so we took our time to capture their love in this unique spot. We also took a walk around the village of Dillsboro, NC to capture more photos of Kimberly and Kyle together. The train’s exterior, the creek running through town, and the old buildings were a perfect backdrop for their engagement photos. We had a ton of fun exploring together and capturing their sweet looks, love, and connection.
