Simplistic Coastal Engagement Session at Sunset

Okay come on – who doesn’t love beach engagement photos?! Cielo strolled hand-in-hand with her fiance, Vernon, as they danced on the sandy coast of their current home city, Vancouver. Our favorite part of this session is how Justin Ho Photography captured the sunset bouncing off the couple’s delighted faces in so many angles. The simpleness in the photos help accentuate each and every detail – the dress, the beach, the love.

How did you meet?

We first met in May of 2016 when Vernon was in Winnipeg for work travel. We exchanged text messages, and then met eventually when Vernon came back to Winnipeg for a visit after a few weeks. Since then we talked for a few months and started dating officially. After a year of having a long distance relationship, Cielo moved to Vancouver and three years after, we got engaged!

What is your proposal story?

Vernon planned the proposal in secret, and prepared to propose during our Italy trip in the summer of 2019. He thought since Rome is the most romantic place on Earth, that he could just “wing it”. However one place after another just did not work! Too hot, too busy, and in one place someone else had proposed as well! He then waited until the next day for the Vatican Gardens tour, and at the end of it, we climbed up to the top of St Peter’s Basilica, overlooking Rome. He then pulled out a brown box that I thought were chocolates, and he said “I got you something”. I said yes, and we ended up sitting at the top of the Basilica for at least another hour reminiscing on our early days in the relationship and the events leading up to the proposal!

Tell us about the ring/band.

The ring is a princess cut diamond. The diamond is very special as it is the first diamond of Vernon’s mom. She then passed it on to Vernon to make it into an engagement ring.
