College sweethearts, Nadia and Payton, walked the tangerine-colored sidewalks of the Alamo City for their November engagement session with Anna Kay Photography. The charming spots that these two Texas A&M alumni choose to feature mirrored the radiant energy of the love between them. Because their love story started in the city they call home, it’s perfectly fitting that they choose it as their photo session setting.
How did you meet?
Payton and I first met at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, where we were both enrolled in the biology program. At the time, Payton worked as a lab tech and would assist professors in setting up experiments for many of the science courses that I attended. As a part of this role, Payton was responsible for quality control checks when students learned to use a micropipette. With each of my failed attempts at procuring the correct measurement for the centrifuge tube, Payton walked over to the lab table with a beaming smile and told me he was sure I’d figure it out when I tried again. His patience, lightheartedness and encouraging words through my missteps left a lasting impression. After a few scattered interactions in the following months, we realized that we shared quite a few mutual friends. Volunteering on campus and attending our fair share of birthday parties created opportunities for lengthy conversations and discoveries of shared interests and senses of humor. It didn’t take long to recognize the growth of our friendship and how fond we’d become of one another’s presence and energy. Regardless of whether our days and months were beautiful and filled with adventure and happiness, or if they were burdened by immense adversity; Payton was always present to take on the role of best friend, incredible supporter and closest confidante.
