Romantic Modern Cabin Proposal in Portland

This is a delightful one, everyone. The smiles and grins you will experience are just a normal affect of sweet Andi’s proposal to Tovah. She literally thought of everything a proposal must have, from an epic location in PDX, event planner Peachy Keen Coordination to take over the setup, a charcuterie board, and blooms and furnishings to continue setting the dreamy mood. Andi’s proposal game was on point and The Documentarist captured all of the memorable moments and happy tears.

How did you meet?

Tovah and I have the classic, modern love story—we met on Tinder. 馃槈 I actually knew exactly who she was when she popped up for me, because we both went to the University of Oregon at the same time and had a lot of the same friends but had never met. I immediately asked Tovah out on a date. Not only because I thought she was incredibly beautiful, but I had only heard kind things about her and felt that even if we weren’t a match, we would at least become fast friends.

Luckily, the moment we met sparks started flying! We spent the whole night on the town getting to know each other. Craft cocktails turned into dinner turned into late night snacks… and we have basically have never been apart since!

What is your proposal story?

For me, I knew that our proposal is a story that Tovah would be asked over and over again. It was important for me to have that story be one she would be excited to repeat and share with our loved ones. I partnered with Cindy Lindsley at Peachy Keen Coordination for assistance in designing and coordinating the moment. She then helped me coordinate a crew of vendors to help set the perfect scene. I wanted a moment that I felt like would be a moment Tovah would always want, something that was quiet and intimate and a reflection.

I booked Rancho Relaxo, this amazing A-Frame cabin up on Mt. Hood that Cindy found for me, and told Tovah it was for our anniversary weekend. When we were driving up, Tovah was so confused as to why I was so stressed out about the 27% chance of rain. Little did she know, Cindy had gone up the cabin ahead a time of time and set the scene for us! There was beautiful rentals from Vintage Meets Modern, fresh bouquets and a trail of flower petals, charcuterie board for celebratory snacks, and champagne ready for us to celebrate!

Upon on our arrival, there was a sign for Tovah to wait. I went ahead to the cabin, and was shocked at how beautiful it looked. We then got me hooked up to the mic for the video, and Cindy had the Mrs. Box ready for me. I placed my ring in and walked back to get Tovah and lead her to the front deck. Tovah gasped at the proposal spot and was so surprised! I read her a speech that I had received a consultation from Emily at Rooted and Wild. I had practiced all week but was still so nervous! I then got down on one knee and asked Tovah to marry me. She enthusiastically said yes!

We had a Charcuterie board from Savour and Graze, flowers from Small Yard Flowers, chairs, a table, and rug from Vintage Meets Modern. I opted to have not only photos taken but also video. I felt important to me to have the moment documented. I see them as digital heirlooms for us to enjoy for generations to come!

Tell us about the ring/band.

Tovah had hinted in the past that she really wanted a ring that was a sapphire (her birthstone) and was a little non-traditional. When I found Elaine’s design, I gasped because I knew it was absolutely PERFECT. The ring is called the “Star Gazer Cluster”. It has different sapphires in shades of blue in an asymmetrical and also .25 carat diamonds all in a bezel setting.

The 14k yellow gold and 2mm thick comfort band matched the setting so perfectly, I knew it was  exactly what i was looking for. I contacted Elaine directly about this ring, and she was an absolute delight to work with. I couldn’t have asked for a better ring buying experience!
