Colorado Mountainside Engagement Session

Matt knew just how to make Ricki’s birthday incredibly memorable: propose to her. And he did it with a stunning London Topaz rock and perfectly, it matches her engagement session dress she donned with Matt and their photog Laura Wolfgang Photography. The love on their faces says it all. Congrats on forever!

How did you meet?

Matt and I met at Qdoba one day after church. I got the impression that he was interested right away, but the timing wasn’t quite right as I started dating someone else. Matt’s patience paid off as my previous relationship ended seven months later, and Matt asked me out for a few dates. The timing wasn’t quite right again as we were on two different pages as to what we were looking for. Fast forward two months and some friends were hosting a game night and we wound up playing the card game “Marrying Mr. Darcy,” which sparked conversation and interest in pursuing our relationship further.

What is your proposal story?

Matt had asked if we could go for a picnic hike one Saturday in June, so I was 98% sure that’s when he was going to propose. My birthday was the Wednesday of that week and I was having some friends over to celebrate. As the party was wrapping up, Matt gave his phone to a friend and asked if she would take some pictures. Then while I was distracted, Matt got on his knee and asked if I would be his wife! It was so special that our friends got to be a part of the night  and that it held such a wonderful surprise!

Tell us about the ring/band.

The band is white gold. The center stone is an emerald-cut London Blue Topaz stone, flanked by two triangular diamonds.
