College Sweethearts Engagement Session at WVU

Well if you didn’t know by now, the University of West Virginia campus is beautiful. It’s no surprise that college sweethearts Kristine and Vincent wanted to get their shoot done there at the place their love story began. With our luck, too, Diana Gramlich snapped photos of the wonderful cityscape overviews in Morgantown and it was an added highlight to the session. Not to mention Kristine’s bezel diamond. It’s got us blinded, for sure.

How did you meet?

We met while we were in school at West Virginia University studying medical laboratory science. Although our program was small and it didn’t take long for all the students to get to know one another, both of us needed some time to build the courage to talk to the other. A few months of school passed, and with the encouragement of a mutual friend, Vinny asked me out on a date to a local restaurant. After that day, we spent nearly every day together, whether it was spending all day in class, helping each other study, or enjoying what Morgantown and WVU has to offer.

What is your proposal story?

We had gone to Charleston, South Carolina for what I thought was just my birthday celebration. I had no idea that Vinny had spent the past several months designing a ring, booking a photographer, and asking for my mother’s permission for the proposal. He had every detail planned out! He had decided to propose on a bridge at Magnolia Plantation and had the photographer waiting for us to arrive.

As we walked along the bridge, he suddenly turned to me, grabbed my hand, and got down on one knee. He had completely taken me by surprise. I had no idea that he was going to propose! It all felt so surreal. We spent the day telling our friends and families the news and letting it sink in that we were officially engaged and had a wedding to plan!

Tell us about the ring/band.

The ring is a 1.1 carat round, solitaire diamond in a 14K gold bezel setting.
