Brittany and Alex share a mutuality of having Connecticut roots, which made an easy decision for them when choosing an engagement session location. Two days before Christmas, the couple pulled on their favorite winter wear and trekked through the snow and brisk air in the Valley Fall forest in Vernon, CT.
How did you meet?
We met in 6th grade at school! We both moved from CT to FL at different times for different reasons and our paths collided and our love story began!
What is your proposal story?
It was our 5 year anniversary weekend and I still didn’t see it coming! Alex took me out to breakfast at our favorite spot and informed me that we had an “appointment” after (I thought this was a couples massage or even a psychic medium reading because I like cool things like that) but first “we needed to stop at home and let our puppers outside.” To my surprise, I walked in and saw our entire entryway and kitchen decked out with rose petals, candles, pictures and a chalkboard sign that said “Will you marry me?” !!!!! Before he even got a chance to get down on one knee, I was crying my eyes out to the point he had to grab my hand and walk me over to the chalkboard sign so he could actually ask me to marry him! My answer was obviously yes!
It was especially special that he chose to propose in our home, the first house we purchased together. THEN all our friends came running out of our guest bedroom because they had helped set it up (and how could I possibly think the candles lit themselves??? Because I did…in overwhelming moments you don’t think about the fact that there is open flames in an empty house!) Then we all poured up some champagne and ended the day with a boat ride to a private beach where I stared at my future husband and ring finger in complete awe and excitement for what the future held.
Tell us about the ring/band.
It’s the most beautiful solitaire. There is something so timeless about solitaire engagement rings; they don’t age. You can look at it in 50 years and think it was purchased yesterday. I’ve always appreciated a classic, timeless look.
Tell us about your engagement shoot outfits and accessories.
We had our engagement shoot just a few days before Christmas so our outfits consisted of sweaters and long sleeve button ups!

We just got married 10/17/2020! It was MAGICAL
