Talk about a destination engagement location! Kara and Rhob’s life is full of traveling the world’s most beautiful places, so of course their engagement session took place in the fanciful city of love! We love the way Cindy B Thymius Photography captured the vivid greenery, pastel buildings and Parisian streets in this session. (We’d be lying if we said we weren’t a little bit jealous!)
How did you meet?
Rhob and I met on the balcony of our hostel in Budapest. I was backpacking Europe and he was there on holiday. I left Budapest to continue with my travels, but managed to connect with Rhob on Facebook before I left. When I arrived in Vienna, I saw he had sent me a long heartfelt message. We spoke all day everyday for the following three weeks. At the end of my trip I was supposed to travel to Venice, but instead, my travel partner and I decided to go to London so that I could see Rhob again before traveling back to the states. We spent four wonderful days in London together before deciding to try long distance. We made it work for a year traveling between the UK and the US. I then moved to Spain and we continued the distance for another two years before I decided to move to England so we could finally be together in the same country.
What is your proposal story?
Rhob and I went to Cardiff, Wales for a day trip to visit a friend who happened to be there for a weekend in May. Cardiff is the city where Rhob was born and after seeing our friend, he wanted to show me around a bit. He took me on a drive to the coast so that we could see a castle on the cliffs overlooking the sea. Once we got to Dunraven Bay, we hiked up to the top of the cliffs to see the view and Rhob got down on one knee and proposed. He had even hid some champagne glasses in the car and we shared a bottle of cava along the shore to celebrate.
