From the Photographer: Ryan reached out to me to help plan a proposal for his beloved, and when he told me this endeavor involved a helicopter I was STOKED. I’ve never flown in a helicopter before, so I was super excited to try this new experience out. I met the pilot at a little airport, and we decided to pretend I was his daughter, so the surprise of the proposal wouldn’t be ruined, and lemme say, this man UNDERSTOOD the assignment. He kept talking to me like his daughter in front of them and acted like I’d done this a million times, it was so funny. There was even a point where he let me steer the helicopter! We flew over downtown Denver, and landed on a hill somewhere behind Red Rocks. We all got out and hiked a little bit to an area with a nice view, and Ryan gave me a little signal that he was about to drop down to one knee. The surprise worked and everybody was so happy and cheered and cried. We popped champagne to seal the deal, twirled around the hilltop a bit, and climbed back in the helicopter to head back to the airport where both of their families were waiting. It was a once in a lifetime experience, and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it.
