A Golden Hour Engagement Session in Monterey Bay

A beach setting is always made better with a sunset peeking through the clouds and the waves. Ashley and Alexander share our sentiments obviously; they hightailed it to Asilomar State Park in Monterey, California with Sarahi Hadden in tow for their engagement session. Sarahi had never been to Asilomar and it was a breathtaking treat for her. The seascapes were amazing, but adding in a couple in love in front of the lens and the coveted golden hour made everything infinitely better.

How did you meet?

We were both going to grad school in Boston, and we met on the dating app Hinge. Our first date was at a coffee shop in Boston. For our second date, I ended up being given last minute tickets to an Ingrid Michaelson concert that Alexander had been trying to get tickets to for months.

What is your proposal story?

We went on a weekend trip to Yosemite, and we hiked the Mist Trail. At the top of Nevada Falls, he proposed and I said yes! We had been staying in a tent, but after the hike and proposal, he surprised me with a night at the Majestic Hotel in Yosemite! We love visiting the national parks, camping, hiking, etc., so the proposal was perfect. 🙂

Tell us about the ring/band.

We designed my engagement ring together and worked with Or Diamond in San Jose, CA. We were able to tell them exactly what we were wanting, and they designed first a 3D computer version, then a 3D plastic printed version, then the real thing! It is a gold band with an oval center stone. It has pave 1/2 way around the band, and all 4 prongs leading to the center stones also has pave. It also has a pave crown around the center stone. It’s perfect!
